Within Your Gates: Building Community Through Service

A strong community is built through service and good works. As the Body of Christ, we are called to love and serve one another, letting our light shine for the glory of our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).

James 2:14-17 reminds us:

“What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,’ without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also, faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”

We are called to “stir up love and good works” (Hebrews 10:24), and the Within Your Gates initiative is designed to do just that.

Responding to Emergencies & Inspiring Good Works

The Within Your Gates program coordinates emergency responses within the Church of God during times of crisis. By working closely with the ministry, we identify urgent needs, raise funds, and respond promptly to provide necessary support.

This program also inspires good works by offering grants for service projects led by Church of God members. Whether you’re an individual or a minister, we encourage you to submit proposals for projects that benefit Church brethren or the wider community.

Examples of Funded Projects Include:

Assisting with natural disaster recovery
Searching for a missing person
Home repairs for widows or those facing illness
Aiding in recovery after a criminal act
